Ramona E. Neri, 80, died July 10, 2023 at home in Garden City.  She was born on February 12, 1943 in Dodge City, the daughter of Guadalupe and Amalia (Lopez) Rodriguez.

Ramona grew up in Dodge City, graduating from Dodge City High School. After high school, she attended St. Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City, graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Education. She taught second grade at Buffalo Jones Elementary School in Garden City for nearly 35 years. Ramona married Juan Neri on July 7, 1972 in Garden City.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Garden City.

Ramona is survived by her husband, Juan Neri of Fowler; son, Juan Neri Jr. (Elise) of Garden City; three grandsons, Jordan, Devin, and Liam; one granddaughter, Camilla; one great granddaughter, Yareli; and one sister, Lydia Gilbert (James) of Denver. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Amalia Rodriguez; and one sister, Norberta Perez.

A vigil service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Garden City on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 7:30 PM. The funeral mass will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Garden City on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 2:00 PM with Father Jacob Schneider presiding.  Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from noon until the service begins.
