Obituary

Dodge City - Randy N. Lantz, 73, died February 24, 2019 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City.  He was born on October 22, 1945 at Salina, Kansas the son of Harold and Lois (Ward) Lantz.

He married Renee Foskuhl on February 8, 1970 in Dodge City, she survives. Mr. Lantz served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for over forty years before retiring. Mr. Lantz loved farming, gardening, taking care of his animals and spending time with his family. He loved going racing and spending time in the great outdoors in his spare time. Mr. Lantz and his wife Renee raised numerous foster children.

He is survived by his wife Renee of the home; two sons Bryton Lantz of Dodge City; Xavier Lantz of Dodge City; five daughters Tonya Helin and husband Darin of Dodge City; Ashlee Lantz of Dodge City; Heather Schawe and husband Tim of Minneola; Jessica Cross Hockenbury and husband Chad of Loveland, Colorado; Lisa Cross of Garden City. He is also survived by a brother Richard Lantz and wife Sue of Wilson, Kansas; and one brother-in-law Dave Willoughby of Hermosa, South Dakota as well as ten grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Randy Scott Lantz and one sister Carolyn Willoughby.

Funeral service will be held at The Gathering on Monday March  4, 2019 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Scott Tilley presiding. Inurnment will follow at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Ft. Dodge with full military rites by Howard Gotschall V.F.W. Post #1714.  There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.  Memorials are suggested to Randy Lantz Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
