Montezuma - Randall Earl McVey, 63, died December 8, 2025 at St. Catherine’s Hospital in Garden City. He was born on August 6, 1962 in Garden City, the son of Royce and Mary (Fair) McVey.

Randy graduated from Cimarron High School, where he excelled in sports, especially track. Following graduation, he was united in marriage to Darla Stevens on January 29, 1982 in Garden City. The couple moved to Garden City and later to Dodge City before making their home in Montezuma. Four children, Joe, Amanda, Stacia, and Andrew completed their family. Randy worked at Hy Plains Feeders in Montezuma and most recently at Sublette Feeders. He liked fishing and hunting. Spending time with his family and grilling were also favorite moments he enjoyed.

Randy is survived by his children, Joe McVey and wife Dana of Tonganoxie, Amanda Foskuhl and husband Richard of Montezuma, Stacia Elliott and husband Aaron of Dodge City, and Andrew McVey of Dodge City; his father, Royce McVey of Dodge City; three siblings, Greg McVey and wife Shirley of Roswell, New Mexico, Denise McVey of Port Aransas, Texas, and Jeff McVey of Kansas City, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Rhett, Emry, and Lane McVey, Jentry and Kady Foskuhl, Wesley and Coleman Elliott, and Beckham Castillo. He is preceded in death by his wife, Darla and his mother, Mary.

Graveside service will be held at Evans Cemetery, south of Montezuma on Friday December 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Jared Joslin presiding.
