RAY W. BLACK
DODGE CITY-Ray W. Black, 51, died Saturday, January 9, 2010 at his home in Dodge City. He was born on May 25, 1958 in Wichita, the son of Wesley L. and Charlcie (Pennell) Black.
Ray grew up in Dodge City and attended local schools. He farmed locally all his life and loved his profession. He also loved hunting in his spare time.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Dodge City and also a proud member of the National Rifle Association.
Ray is survived by his mother, Charlcie Black of Dodge City; one sister Melinda Hodgson and husband Kendall of Little River; two nephews, Tanner Hodgson and Logan Hodgson both of Little River; and one niece, Bailey Hodgson of Little River. He was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Black in 2007.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Lance Carrithers presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 from noon to 8:00 PM.
