Dodge City - Ray Charles Thomas, 62, died September 14, 2023 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on March 31, 1961 at San Antonio, Texas the son of Sylvester Thomas Sr. and Cora Lee (Tillis) Thomas.

Ray was a tire mechanic, worked security and was a jack of all trades. He was also the owner of an ice cream truck and route that made many Dodge City children smile when they heard him coming. Ray loved his family dearly and everything he did was for his children.

He was married to Carla Pillion and Joyce Bradshaw, they remained friends.

Ray is survived by his children, Jerome Riddley and Julia of Amarillo, Texas, Sebastian Thomas and Mary Lee of Fort Scott, Elizabeth Thomas and Davin Detar of Coffeyville, Chris Shahidi of Dodge City, Alexis Bradshaw-Thomas and McKensi Smith of Dodge City, and Kiara Bradshaw-Thomas of Dodge City; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Sylvester Thomas, Jr of Dodge City; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Isaac and Robert Houston and Dickie Wayne Milton; and four sisters, Alta Mae Wilson, Elizabeth Martinez, Jannie Lee Wilson and Betty Ann Milton.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Swaim Funeral Chapel. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
