Obituary

INGALLS - Raymond Leslie "Ray" Woods, 71, died June 5, 2021 at his home in Gray County.  He was born on December 18, 1949 at Dodge City, the son of Kenneth and Arvilla Zeda (Hines) Woods.

Growing up, Ray helped with his family custom wheat harvesting business traveling from Oklahoma to Montana. He was a graduate of Cimarron High School and enlisted in the US Army during the Vietnam War serving from 1969 to 1971. Ray was a road grade operator for Finney County for many years in the Kalvesta area. He was also a over the road truck driver and later hauled grain and rock locally

He was an avid sports fan and especially loved to watch the KU Jayhawks men's basketball teams. Ray had a love for history, genealogy, and any sort of museum or antique store. He also enjoyed woodworking in his spare time.

Ray is survived by a son, Jamie of Arizona; a sister-in-law, Yolanda Woods of Oklahoma; two nieces; one nephew; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Bernard Woods.

Graveside service will be held at Cimarron Cemetery on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 10:30 AM.  Full military honors will be provided by the KSARNG Military Honors and American Legion District 8 Honor Guard. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
