Rebecca
Craghead
October 12, 1965 – May 14, 2026
Our beloved Rebecca Craghead left this world on May 14, 2026, at the age of 60. She was born on October 12, 1965, in Houston, Texas to Raymond Robert and Gala Lucille (Catlin) Gwin.
Rebecca spent her early childhood in Texas before moving to Kansas when she was 18. She began her career as a CNA and eventually became an RN, working at various hospitals and nursing homes in southwest Kansas for over 30 years. Rebecca filled her years with adventure, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to her loved ones and friends.
Rebecca was not only a skilled care giver who devoted her life to caring for others, but she was also a spirited soul who embraced life with open arms. From the roar of motorcycle engines to the gentle rhythm of galloping horses, Rebecca found joy in the thrill of the ride and the beauty of the outdoors. Her zest for life inspired everyone around her. She was united in marriage to Jesse Craghead on February 14, 2005.
As a proud foster mom, Rebecca's kind heart and nurturing spirit touched the lives of many children in need. She was known for her warmth, her ability to listen, and her gift for making others feel valued and loved. Family meant everything to Rebecca, and she cherished every moment spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Rebecca is survived by her husband, Jesse of Jetmore; seven children, Shannon McCollum, Shawn McCollum, Charles McCollum, Carl Smith, Jedediah Smith, Jeremiah Smith, and Jezariah Smith; four step children, Bron Craghead, Jennifer Craghead, Sara Craghead Collins-Jones, and Ross Craghead; many grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; two great step grandchildren; and four siblings. She is preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of Rebecca's life will be held at a later date. There is no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guestbook atwww.swaimfuneralhome.com.
Rest in peace, Rebecca. You will always ride on in our hearts.
