RETA V. WHISENANT - DODGE CITY
Reta V. Whisenant, 84, died Sunday, July 11, 2010 at High Plains Retirement Village at Lakin, KS. She was born on September 19, 1925 at Beaver County, OK the daughter of Roy and Emma (Boyer) Adams.
She maried John Whisenant on July 21, 1945 in Denver, Colorado, he preceded her in death on April 5, 1992. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, bowling, cooking and spending time with her family. Mrs Whisenant was a homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters Jeanie and husband Frank Rose of Dodge City,Jackie Whisenant of Ensign, and Cathy and husband Ronald Clodfelter of Johnson. She is also survived by five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Jean,Gilbert,and Herschel Adams and one sister Ruby Newberry.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Memorials can be made to High Plains Retirement Village Special Care Unit or to the Alzheimers Association in care of the funeral home.
