DODGE CITY - Richard D. Garcia, 82, died July 20, 2012 at Garden City. He was born on January 21, 1930 at Dodge City the son of Jesus and Josephine (Delgado) Garcia.
Richard was a chef in Wichita, Louisville, Kentucky and Florida. He retired and moved back to Dodge City where he worked at the Dodge City Country Club.
He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Dodge City.
Richard is survived by two brothers, Louie Garcia of Santa Rosa, California and Jaime Garcia of Sacremento, California; a sister, Corine Morse of Merrimack, New Hampshire; and numerous nieces and nephewsHe was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gene Garcia and Jesus Vasquez; and sister, Susana Torrez.
Vigil Service will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 7:00 PM and the Funeral Mass will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Ted Skalsky presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City with military rites by Howard Gotschall Post #1714, V.F.W.. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from Noon to 5:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Richard Garcia Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
