Holcomb - Richard Joe Owens, 61, died October 8, 2013 at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City. He was born on November 22, 1951 in Prichard, Oklahoma the son of Charlie Richard and Deloris (Cox) Owens.

Richard moved to Lakin with his family as a young child. He attended Lakin schools. On February 14, 1970, he married Debbie Morgan in Garden City. Richard later married Donna Behm on January 20, 2001 in Garden City. She survives. He drove a truck for many companies over the years, the last being for Eves Trucking. Richard enjoyed horses and cars.

In addition to his wife, Donna, Richard is survived by three sons, Keith Owens and Jeff Owens both of Lakin and Ryan Owens of Holcomb; three sisters, Carol Schulz of Lakin, Tammie Craig of Pueblo West, Colorado, and Debbie Horwat of Fountain, Colorado; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside service will be held at Richfield Cemetery in Richfield on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 2:00 PM. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place.
