Robert Alexander "Ande" Ervin, III, 62, died Sunday, March 8, 2009 at his home in Dodge City. He was born on February 27, 1947 in Winfield, the son of Robert Alexander and Mary (Puckett) Ervin.

Ande graduated from Dodge City High School. He attended Dodge City Community College, Wentworth Military College, and Bethany College. While in school, he participated in the Dodge City High School Band, Wentworth Marching Band, and the Bethany Orchestra. On June 20, 1974, he married Jane Morrison. Ande worked for Sunflower Telephone Company. Before his accident, Ande enjoyed music, traveling, tennis, and skiing. Ande was also an avid sports fan.

For the past 30 years, Ande shared his life with his wife; mother; caretakers, Todd, Luisa, and Suzanne; and many friends. Ande brought much joy and love to all he knew. His smile, kind words, gentle heart, and loving spirit will be greatly missed. Though Ande is gone from us, he will never leave the hearts of his loved ones.

Ande is survived by his wife, Jane Ervin of Dodge City and his mother, Mary Ervin of Dodge City. He was preceded in death by his father.

Graveside service will be held at Fairmount Cemetery in Jetmore on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dennis Zimmerman presiding. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials can be made to St. Cornelius Episcopal Church in care of the funeral home.
