Obituary

Copeland - Robert "Bob" Michael Binkley, 74, of Copeland, Kansas, died peacefully at home on April 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior.  He has joined his beloved wife, Tammy, who passed away in 2022.  Bob is the son of the late Raymond and Idessa Binkley.

Bob was born in Casa Grande, Arizona on August 2, 1949, and spent his early years in Picacho, Arizona.  He later worked as an electrician and in irrigation well motor repair before becoming a full-time cotton farmer.  Bob and Tammy, operating Sunset Farms, moved to Willcox, Arizona and branched out into growing various crops.  He then relocated his family to begin a farming operation near Bay City, Texas.  Copeland, Kansas soon became the next opportunity for "Texas Bob" and his family.  They are very grateful for the warm welcome  from this Kansas community. Bob appreciated the good times with the "Breakfast Gang" and the support from so many friends during his brief battle with cancer.

Bob attended Copeland Methodist Church and is a member of First Baptist Church, Willcox, Arizona.  Bob and Tammy liked traveling in their motor home and spending time at the beach.  Bob enjoyed meeting new people and having his children and grandchildren nearby.

Surviving Bob are his daughters:  April (Shawn) Breneman, Rebecca (David) Williamson, and Katie (Josh) Hill.  Bob was loving Papa to his grandchildren:  Allie, Clara, Janel, and Grant Breneman; Seth, Noah, and Bradley Williamson; and Jesse and Hazel Hill, and a grandson expected in July.  He is survived by a brother, Billy Binkley, Tucson, Arizona.  In addition to his parents and wife, Bob is preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Binkley, Jerry Binkley, and Judy Gross.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Copeland Methodist Church on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 10:30 AM with Pastors Dough Harris and Mike Hudson presiding.  Burial will follow at Copeland Cemetery.  There is no visitation as cremation has taken place.  Memorials are suggested to the Copeland Senior Center or Cowboy Heritage Church for Navajo missions in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel – PO Box 421 – Montezuma, KS 67867.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
