Obituary

Montezuma - Robert L. Crenshaw, 84, died November 16, 2012 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. He was born on December 3, 1927 at Shamrock, Texas, the son of Robert and Letha (Imhoff) Crenshaw.

He moved from Shamrock, Texas to Dodge City as a child. Robert was a World War II veteran, serving in the US Army in the European Theatre. On June 29, 1946, he married Bernice F. Friddle in Pampa, Texas. She preceded him in death on April 25, 1987. They lived in Pampa until moving to a farm near Montezuma in 1960. Bob worked for City Service Gas Company for 26 years until his retirement. He was also a farmer and rancher. Bob enjoyed making wooden toys that he gave away to many friends and family.

He was a member of the Copeland American Legion.

Bob is survived by one son, Randy Crenshaw of Dodge City; one daughter, Vicki Guerrero of Pikecreek, Texas; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Laquetta Sue; two step-children, Tony Kirby and Marcia Lobban; one sister, Bonnie Wiegand; and one grandson, David Gurley.

Graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Montezuma on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Odle presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Montezuma on Monday, November 19, 2012 from noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Copeland American Legion in care of the funeral home.
