Robert K. Stach, 85, died January 21, 2011 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. He was born on December 17, 1925 at Jackson Township, KS the son of Otto and Kathryn (Daubert) Stach.
He served as a Staff Sargeant during World War II. He married Rachel Eidson on June 8, 1952 at Kinsley, she preceded him in death on June 29, 2001. Robert was a retired Post Master from the Dodge City Post Office. After retiring from the post office he worked as a road man for the Brier and Hale Music Store. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
He was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Howard Gotschall V.F.W. Post #1714, AARP, NARFE, 100TH Infantry Division.
Robert is survived by two sisters, Lorene Schmidt of Hutchinson and Lois Behnke of Kinsley; one sister-in-law, Doris Stach of Amarillo, TX; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Funeral service will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Kinsley on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 10:00 Am with Rev. Andrew Becker presiding. Burial will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Edwards County, Kansas with full military rites by Howard Gotschall VFW Post #1714. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Monday, January 24, 2011 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Prairie Home Health, Holy Cross Lutheran Church Flower Fund, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church Organ Fund in care of the funeral home.
