DODGE CITY - Robert Stephen "Steve" Harper, 69, died January 2, 2012 at the Meade District Hospital. He was born on February 6, 1942 at Macomb, Illinois the son of Robert Lee and Helen (Mixer) Harper.

Steve was a graduate of Dodge City High School. He moved to California and then later to Detroit, Michigan. Steve was well known in the custom car industry in California and Detroit. He specialized in one of a kind custom automobiles and limosines that he built for many notable people.

Steve is survived by his mother Helen Harper of Dodge City; daughter, Cindi Hron of Millville, Pennsylvania and grandsons, Ethan and Izac; brother, William Robert Harper and wife Robyn of Hollywood, Florida; and two sisters, Sue Heiland and husband Fred of Spearville and Pat Sullivan and husband Jerry of Sabetha.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place.
