Roberta "Bobbi" Wood, 58, died Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Good Samaritan Center in Dodge City. She was born on October 16, 1951 at Spearville, the daughter of George H. and Lottie Bell (Norton) Harrison.
Bobbi graduated from Copeland High School. She married Orin "Woody" Wood on October 25, 1969 at Copeland. Mrs. Wood was one of the first employees hired at McDonalds of Dodge City when it opened. She also worked various construction jobs with her husband for Sherwood Construction and also worked as an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
Survivors include her husband, "Woody" Wood of the home; one daughter, Sheryl Wood of Dodge City; one brother, Robert "Rip" Stockdale and wife Shirley of Salina; one grandson, Zachary Knoeber of Dodge City; and her father, George H. Harrison of Copeland. She was preceded in death by her mother.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Mr. Doug Harris presiding. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. that day at Copeland Cemetery in Copeland. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
