Dodge City - Rocky Francis Konecny, 52, died March 23, 2012 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City . He was born on July 29, 1959 at Dodge City, Ks the son of Joseph L. Konecny and Norma Lee (Reinert).

He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors, and spending time with his family. Rocky never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone he met.

He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Dodge City. He also participated in the Faith and Light Program and was a aide to the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his mother Norma Lee of the home, three brothers Michael Konecny and friend Brad Garrett of Houston, Texas; Kevin Konecny and fiancee Michelle Brown-Hartnett of Castle Rock,Colorado; Rick Konecny and wife Tammy of Dodge City; two sisters Joni Bunnell of Minneola, KS; Kathy Collins and Fiancee Brent Jeansonne of Tallahassee, Florida. He is also survived several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Ted Skalsky presiding. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery in rural Ford County. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 12:00 to 5:00 PM. Vigil service will be at 7:00 PM Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Memorials are suggested to Faith and Light in care of the funeral home.
