Rodney Dee Musick, 59, died Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. He was born on February 17, 1949 at Great Bend the son of Carl "Rex" and Bessie Gertrude (Foster) Musick.
He served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Michele Moyer on November 15, 1975 in Wellington. Mr. Musick was a employee for the City of Dodge City for 22 years. Mr. Musick was an avid Kansas University basketball fan.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and Mariah Hills Mens Golf Associations both of Dodge City.
Mr. Musick is survived by his wife, Michele Musick of Dodge City; two daughters, Jennifer Rucker and husband Matt of Dodge City and Lindsay Musick of Dodge City; three brothers, Gary Musick and wife Maria of Dodge City, Larry Musick and wife Vickie of Goodyear, Arizona and Jim Musick of Dodge City; one sister, Rexine McKinley and husband Mike of El Mirage, Arizona; one grandson, Holden Fryback of Dodge City; three granddaughters, Kerigan Fryback, Taelor Rucker, and Morghyn Rucker all of Dodge City; his mother, Bessie Gertrude Musick of Dodge City. He is also survived by his canine companion, Norman.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Monday, February 16, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Gary Winget and Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City with military graveside rites by Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W.. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Sunday, February 15, 2009 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
