ROGER M. BRUNSON

Garden City - Roger M. Brunson, 70, died February 20, 2015 at Trinity Manor Nursing Home in Dodge City. He was born on November 8, 1944 at Garden City the son of Mearl and Artie (Clarkson) Brunson.

Mr. Brunson married Crissie Miller on March 7, 1986. They were members of the Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo. Roger, known by most as R.B. drove a truck most of his adult life. R.B. was his initials but also his CB handle, was known to many in the early days as "Road Boss". With a larger than life and outspoken personality, R.B. was a fitting call name/handle to most people who knew him. R.B. would make the most mundane drive down a lonely highway an experience to remember. His handle was R.B., to us his children, it's just "Dad", we will remember and love you forever.

Roger is survived by his wife, Crissie Brunson of Dodge City; children, Sonja Brunson Jones, Stephanie Brunson Butler, Travis Brunson, Troy Brunson, Tim Brunson, Vickie Brunson Lohmeyer, Roger Mearl Brunson, Athena Brunson Newman, Ann Taylor, Ray Reese, and Harold Reese. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Alene Calder Herrman.R.B. was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mearlene Ankrom; one brother, Doyle Brunson; and one son, Richard Brunson-Hazelwood.

Funeral service will be held at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. with Mr. Steve Ormord presiding. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Charity of Donor's Choice in care of the funeral home. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
