Ronald L. Hoskinson, 73, died Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Via Christi St. Francis Campus in Wichita. He was born on March 23, 1937 in Copeland, the son of Harold Raymond and Thelma Oneita (Armentrout) Hoskinson, Sr.
He grew up in Gray County. Ronald served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 in the 41st Tank Battalion. On June 22, 1959, he married Betty George in Clayton, New Mexico. He was a truck driver and mechanic.
Ronald was a member of the American Legion of Dodge City and the Patriot Guard.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Betty Hoskinson of Cimarron; one son, Robert Hoskinson of Cimarron; one daughter, Brenda Thomas of Cimarron; five brothers, Danny D. Hoskinson of Forsyth, Missouri, Charles D. Hoskinson of Cimarron, Melvin R. Hoskinson of Wichita, Leonard D. Hoskinson of Dodge City, and Joe A. Hoskinson of Garden City; three sisters, Lola Margaret Renick of Garden City, Thelma Clarine Heiman of Garden City, and Karol Lies of Minneola; two grandchildren, Amber Thomas of Cimarron and Cody Thomas of Cimarron; and one great grandchild, Katrina Thomas of Cimarron. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Richard G. Hoskinson and Harold Raymond Hoskinson, Jr.
Funeral service will be held at Gray County Recreation Building in Cimarron on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Mr. David Johnson presiding. Burial will follow at Cimarron Cemetery in Cimarron with military graveside rites by Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Cimarron on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials can be made to the First Christian Church of Cimarron, the Patriot Guard, or to the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
