Dodge City - Roscoe Franklin Dyer, 84, died Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri. He was born December 1, 1927 in Sunset, Texas the son of Elmer and Edith (Mayhugh) Dyer. He grew up on the family farm in Sunset, Texas and later the family moved to Oklahoma.
On May 29, 1951 he married Donna Jean Moulton in Dodge City. She preceded him in death on September 28, 2001. Roscoe worked at Grain Products Company of Dodge City for over 40 years where he was a manager and supervisor. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Dodge City for over 60 years where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and many other capacities.
Roscoe is survived by a son, Ron Dyer, Blue Springs, Missouri, two daughters, Amy Hantla, Lenexa; Deborah Krzycki, North Platte, Nebraska; a brother Jimmy Gale Dyer, Chickasha, Oklahoma; a sister,
Frieda Sue Phillips, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at First Christian Church on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. with Dr. Phil Scott presiding. Burial will follow at Greencrest Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from Noon to 8:00 P.M..
