DODGE CITY - Rose Mary Hammons, 52, died January 24, 2013 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. She was born on February 19, 1960 at Dodge City the daughter of Robert and Thelma K. (Frances) Durr.

Rose was a good mother, excellent wife, and loved her grand children. She loved cooking, reading books, and collecting movies.

Rose Mary is survived by her husband, Dell D. Hammons of Willroads Gardens; a son, Michael Anderson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three daughters, Katie Lang of Healy, Bonnie Anderson of Kingsdown, and Michelle Anderson of Dodge City; father and stepmother, Robert and Patricia Durr of Dodge City, four brothers, Ross Durr of Bloom, Robert Durr of Wilroads Gardens, Donald Durr of Palco, and Dalmer Durr of Dodge City; four sisters, Anna Dykstra of Scott City, Roberta Harper of Dodge City, Twila Payne of Missouri, and Naomi Durr of Dodge City; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother.

Funeral service will be held at Wilroads Gardens Christian Church on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Monday, January 28, 2013 from noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Rose Hammons Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
