Dodge City - Rose Lee Slagle, 80, died December 4, 2017 at Ft. Dodge Veterans Home in Ft. Dodge, Kansas. She was born on March 3, 1937 at Dodge City, Kansas the daughter of Lloyd and Mae (Gardnier) Koontz.

She married James Slagle on July 7, 1955 in Dodge City, he survives. Mrs. Slagle loved socializing at the V.F.W. and always looked forward to traveling, especially her gambling trips. She always enjoyed going to see her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Howard Gotschall V.F.W. Post #1714.

She is survived by her husband James of Ft. Dodge; one son Scott Slagle and wife Margie of Katy, Texas; two daughters Shelley Macaluso and husband Chuck of St. Helens, Oregon; Susan Slagle of Dodge City; three grandchildren Kami Michelle Banko and husband Drew of Lexington Park, Maryland; Lauren Nicole Macaluso of Portland, Oregon; Jenna Christine DeBonis and husband Chris of Katy, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Saturday December 9, 2017 at 10:00 AM with Mr. Jeff  Hiers presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel prior to the service on Saturday.  Memorials are suggested to Kansas Veterans Home at Ft.
