Obituary

Dodge City - Rosemary Nolde, 92, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. She was born on July 7, 1932 on her family farm near Offerle, Kansas. She was the daughter of Adam and Josephine (Dolecheck) Spahn.

She worked tirelessly to support her children as a clerk for Pay Day IGA, then Gibson's, and later enjoyed time working for USD 443 Food Service. Rosemary always had a love of sports, especially basketball and baseball. She was always watching either her favorite college or professional sports teams and most importantly loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events. While she was rehabbing a broken ankle at the Manor of the Plains, her goal was to get home prior to the start of the NCAA's "Big Dance" basketball tournament, an event she watched every year. She met that goal.

Rosemary loved being around her grandchildren, quite often spoiling them. Some of the grandkid's fondest memories with their Grandma were enjoying Little Debs, Ninja Turtle popsicles, and playing new video games.

She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the American Legion Auxiliary all of Dodge City.

She is survived by three children, Twyla Kay Taylor and husband Tom of Dodge City, Kathy Birzer of Dodge City, and Terry Nolde and wife Kayla of Strasburg, Colorado; three grandchildren, Brandon and wife Janae Price of Olathe, Kansas, Dr. Sam Taylor of Dodge City, Kansas, and Max and wife Megan Taylor of Phoenix, Arizona; three great grandchildren, Jackson Taylor of Dodge City, and Aidan and Alyssa Price of Olathe, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Rodney Moore and Cherity Kean; and a sister, Betty Duesing.
