Obituary

Roy Noble Snyder 89, died August 23, 2021, at Bethel Home in Montezuma. He was born on September 16, 1931, in rural Ford County, Kansas, the son of Frederick Luther and Leah Darline (Ford) Snyder.

He married Bertha "Birdie" Ochs on June 6, 1956. She preceded him in death on May 24, 1962. He later married Valetta "Coy" Adams on June 8, 1985, in Dodge City. She preceded him in death on February 23, 2018. Noble was employed at various jobs in and around Dodge City, the last being Hy-Plains Dressed Beef; where he was employed for many years. After his retirement, he loved working in his shop, on various projects which he later entered into the Ford and Gray County Fairs in the adult divisions. He was a kind and caring man and was always there to help anyone in need. Noble never met a stranger. He loved to visit with people whenever he had the chance.

He is survived by one son, Roy Snyder and wife Karen of Dodge City; three daughters, Julie Unruh and husband Dave R; Karen Prentice and husband Dave of Dodge City; Donna Amoth and husband Jerry of Mora, Missouri; one sister, Delores Phillips of Macksville. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Luther, Angus, Daniel, Ross, and two infant brothers; as well as three sisters: Bernice Boehme, Wanda Leasure, and Virginia Snyder.

Graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at 10 a.m. with Minister Charles Schmidt presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
