Obituary

Dodge City - Roy A Walker, 75, died January 9, 2020 at SunPorch in Dodge City.  He was born on July 19, 1944 in Denver, Colorado, the son of David Oscar and Molly Marie (Cruse) Walker.

As a young man, Roy enlisted in the United States Navy.  He later re-enlisted in the United States Army.  After his honorable discharge, Roy worked as a civilian contract laborer for the military.  He later worked in construction for a number of years in Wichita before moving to Enid to work at Lowe's and Home Depot. Roy later moved to Fort Dodge. He enjoyed collecting eagles and tending to his rose gardens.

Roy is survived by two children; a brother; a grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a sister.

Burial will be held at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Fort Dodge on Friday February 21, 2020 at 1:00 PM with military honors by KSARNG and American Legion 8 th District.  There is no visitation as cremation has taken place.  Memorials are suggested to Halsey Hall Activity Fund in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
