Ingalls - Ruben Rojas, 49, died March 14, 2018 as the result of an automobile accident in Lubbock, Texas.  He was born on June 27, 1968 in Mexico, the son of Javier and Juana (Aguilar) Rojas.

As a child, Ruben lived with his family in Mexico.  At the age of 16, he moved to the United States and came to Dodge City to work in the packing plants.  Ruben moved to Garden City in 1989.  On April 20, 1991, he married Rosa Marquez.  She survives.  After their marriage, they moved to Montezuma and Cimarron.  In 1996, they moved to Ingalls.  Ruben worked as a truck driver for Hansen Muller Trucking and was also the Spanish pastor for the Hispanic community at the First Christian Church in Cimarron.  Ruben enjoyed caring for his sheep and cattle.  He was always working but was willing to help others in need.  He anticipating the arrival of his first grandchild this summer.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Cimarron.

Ruben is survived by his wife, Rosa of the home; a son, Ruben Joshua Rojas and wife Ruby of Dodge City; daughter, Prisma Zari Rojas of the home; three sisters, Blanca Aguilar and husband Virgil, Silvia Garcia and husband Cesar, and Isabel Ruiz and husband Fernando all of Dodge City; six brothers, Javier Rojas and wife Matilde, Rene Rojas and wife Maria Elena, Julian Rojas and wife Sandra, Luis Rojas and wife Claudia, Rosendo Rojas and wife Adriana all of Dodge City and Francisco Rojas and wife Sonia of Ulysses; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his church family.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Tuesday March 20, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Pastors David Johnson, Luis Rojas, and Francisco Rojas presiding.  Burial will follow at Ingalls Cemetery.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Monday March 19, 2018 from 12:00-8:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to the family for the Prisma Zari Rojas Education Fund in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
