RUTH ORA MAY (FAIL) MARTIN
DODGE CITY-Ruth Ora May (Fail) Martin, 82, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. She was born on April 26, 1928 in Manhattan, the daughter of Orie and Virginia (Vanarsdal) Fail.
Ruth moved with her family to Dodge City as a young child. She attended Dodge City schools. Ruth worked at several Dodge City businesses including Dodge City Laundry. She married Kenneth Martin, Jr. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of First Assembly of God of Dodge City.
Ruth is survived by two daughters, Dolores Jeanette Winkler of Dodge City and Virginia Ann Leibert and husband Charles of Wenatchee, Washington; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and many more that were privileged to call her grandma. She was preceded in death by four sons, Gary, Joseph, Michael, and Edgar; and one brother, Sidney Fail.
Funeral service will be held at First Assembly of God in Dodge City on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Rev. David Graves presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 from noon to 5:00 PM.
