Dodge City - Ruth Wire, 54, died May 5, 2015 at her residence in Dodge City. She was born on May 18, 1960 in Dodge City, daughter of Henry and LaVera (Deines) Stenzel, Jr. She attended schools in Dodge City and graduated from Dodge City High School. She then attended and graduated from Barclay College in Haviland.

On April 26, 2003 she married Jeff Wire in Dodge City. She worked at Dodge City Public Library in the Children's Department, was a Para for U.S.D. 443 for a short time and later worked at Watersports Campground. She loved gardening, flowers and going to yard sales.

She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Dodge City.

Ruth is survived by her husband Jeff Wire, Dodge City; two brothers, Marvin Stenzel, and Donnie Stenzel both of Dodge City; two sisters, Roberta Hornbaker, Copeland and Debra Stenzel, Garden City and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Dodge City on Saturday, May 9, 2015 with Rev. Christopher Conner presiding. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City on Friday, May 8, 2015 from Noon to 8:00 P.M.. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Dodge City Youthville or Christ The King Lutheran Church both in care of the funeral home.
