Dodge City - Sally Kerschen, 76, passed away on July 16, 2025 at St. Catherine Hospital of Dodge City. She was born on July 18, 1948 at Dodge City, Kansas the daughter of Ted and Lucille (Jones) McKinley.
Sally was a lifelong resident of Dodge City and a graduate of Dodge City High School. She later in life attended Dodge City Community College where she studied art. On February 21, 1981 she married Jim Kerschen in Cimarron. Sally was an advertising representative for the High Plains Journal, Dodge City Daily Globe, and DC International Incorporated. She enjoyed painting, clothing fashion, and loved animals.
She attended the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City.
Sally is survived by her husband, Jim Kerschen of Dodge City, Kansas; two sons, Jason Flegler and wife Joely and John Flegler and wife Marnie both of Tulsa, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Jacob, Lilly, and Thomas Flegler and Olivia, Lucy, and Maggie Flegler; and one brother, John McKinley and wife Ramona of Wichita, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Phyllis Larson and Iris Gibbens and brother, Teddy McKinley.
Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Ted Stoecklein presiding. Burial will be at 3:30 PM on Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, 120 N. Valley in Cunningham, Kansas. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Monday, July 21, 2025 from 1:00 PM. To 7:00 PM with a vigil service to follow at 7:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Ford County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
