Indian Springs – Samuel L. Jones, 71, died December 6, 2017 at the University of Nevada Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He was born on June 12, 1946 at Dodge City the son of  Leland H.and Verna R. (Clark) Jones.

Mr. Jones was a 1964 graduate of Dodge City High School and worked with his parents at Jones Packing Company before moving to Las Vegas. He worked as a meat cutter for several hotels in the Las Vegas area and later worked as a long haul truck driver before retiring.

He is survived by his son Leland L. Jones of Indian Springs, Nevada; one sister Dixie Oringderff and husband Ralph of Dodge City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside service with full military rites by Howard Gotschall V.F.W. Post #1714 and KSARNG Military Honors will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery on Thursday December 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Ford County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
