Dodge City - Samuel Rangel, 59, died May 18, 2021 at his home in Dodge City. He was born on July 10, 1961 at San Felipe, GTO, Mexico the son of Agustin and Maria Elena (Gomez).

He married Maria (Mendez) on January 1, 1983 in Mexico, she survives. Mr. Rangel loved to play baseball and play his guitar in his spare time. The thing he cherished most was spending time with his family and friends. He also loved working on his trucks when ever he had time.

He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Carsillo all of Dodge City.

He is survived by his wife Maria of the home; three daughters Mariela Rangel and husband Sergio Zamora of Dodge City; Ana Gaytan and husband Juan of Dodge City; Alma Rangel and husband Mario Mares of Dodge City; one son Samuel Rangel of Dodge City and four grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers Miguel Rangel of Texas; Jaime Rangel of Little Rock, Arkansas; Augustin Rangel of Little Rock, Arkansas; five sisters Graciela Rangel of San Antonio, Texas; Cecilia Rangel of San Antonio, Texas; Elena Rangel of Mexico; Margarita Rangel of Mexico and Amelia Rangel of Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother and one sister.

Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Monday May 24, 2021 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Wesley Schawe presiding. There will be no burial as cremation will follow the mass.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Sunday, May 23, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A Vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM, Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe.  Memorials are suggested to Samuel Rangel Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
