IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandy
Nace
February 13, 1956 – August 4, 2018
Greensburg - Sandra Diane (Schartner) Nace was born on February 13, 1956, to John and Coreen (Wiebe) Schartner in Matsqui, British Columbia. She departed this life on August 4, 2018, as the result of a tragic vehicle crash. She was 62 years old at the time of her death.
Sandy grew up in Abbotsford, British Columbia. She received her education in the Clearbrook school system. She was a happy, fun-loving young girl. In 1968, she was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. Her faith was very important to her. In 1974, she moved to Enderby, British Columbia, with her family.
She loved children and spent time helping special needs children in Abbotsford, volunteering at Gallup, New Mexico, and teaching Bible school in Greasewood, Arizona. Her marriage to Tim Nace on August 10, 1984, was blessed with four children.
In 2014, MeeMaw's first grandchild McKenzie arrived and was followed by Isabelle, Eugene, Chloe, Piper, Bentley, Heath, Evelynn, and Tatum. These children were the light of her life, and she doted on them continually. Babysitting, story-telling, teaparties, and playing with them brightened her day. She would call and beg for her grandbabies to come over if we waited too many days between visits. As they are so fresh from Heaven they seem closer to Meemaw now than the rest of us and are a balm to our hurting hearts.
Mom's love of growing flowers followed her from her girlhood home to Mississippi and finally to Greensburg where visitors and family alike were delighted by her talent. She enjoyed entertaining in her home and often had her house full of friends and neighbors. She loved cooking for crowds and was known for her gourmet cooking and especially her cheesecakes. She enjoyed buying gifts for others, and her store "Nana's Nook," specializing in home decor, grew out of a closet full of children's gifts. She also hosted elaborate tea parties at her home.
Sandy is survived and dearly missed by her husband of 34 years, Tim Nace of Greensburg, Kansas; four children: Whitney and Brady Dirks, and Jon and Lilly Nace of Greensburg, Kansas; Samantha and David Kramer of Jamesport, Missouri; and Morgan and Preston Thiessen of Dewberry, Alberta; her father John Schartner, two sisters Kathy Reimer and Joyce Reimer, and two brothers Jim Schartner and Bruce Schartner, all of Enderby, British Columbia; nine grandchildren; many in-laws; and a multitude of friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Coreen, sister-in-law Gayle, and niece Lani.
