Montezuma - Sara Sandvos, 44, died October 22, 2018 at her home in Montezuma surrounded by her family. She was born on July 28, 1974 in Fredonia, the daughter of Bill and Ursula (Schafer) Row.
As a child, Sara moved with her family to Cassville, Missouri. She graduated from Cassville High School in 1992. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Montezuma. On July 28, 2014, she married Jason Sandvos. He survives. Sara worked as a librarian for the Montezuma Township library and later was the manager at the Circle K convenience store in Montezuma. Sara loved spending time with her family and friends, especially on her favorite holiday, the 4th of July. She enjoyed camping, traveling, photography, and attending her children's school activities. Her smile and courage will be remembered by all those that knew her.
Sara is survived by her husband, Jason of Montezuma; two children, Nicholas Powell and Victoria Powell both of Montezuma; step-daughter, Hailey Sandvos; her mother, Ursula Row of Montezuma; sister, Lori Flores and husband Richard of Cimarron; and her grandmother, Billie Kidd of Fredonia as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father.
A celebration of Sara's life will be held at the South Gray High School Gymnasium, Montezuma on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 10:30 AM. There is no visitation as cremation has taken place. A private family burial will take place at a later time. Memorials are suggested to the Cancer Center of Kansas in Dodge City in care of the funeral home.
