Sarah Janell Moote, 37, died December 10, 2020 at her home in Dodge City. She was born on September 5, 1983 in Jay, Oklahoma the daughter of Tom and Kay (Hamilton) Moote.
Sarah spent her childhood in Grove, Oklahoma. She was a 2004 graduate of Grove High School. In 2008, Sarah moved to Dodge City with her mother. She worked for Gatehouse Media, delivering the Shopper's Weekly and La Estrella in Dodge City. Sarah also worked for Arrowhead West in Dodge City. She enjoyed the lake, swimming, and boating. Sarah was an active member of the Dodge City Dodgers Special Olympic Team, participating in bowling and basketball. Sarah could light up a room with her smile and laughter. She loved being the center of attention at family get togethers. Sarah enjoyed attending Night To Shine with her friends.
Sarah is survived by her mother and stepfather, Kay and Leon Feldt of Dodge City; father, Tom Moote and companion Ginger Littlefield of Grove, Oklahoma; one brother, Cory Moote of Dodge City; three step sisters, Bonnie Morehead and husband Robbie of Temple, Texas, Cammie Vaubel and husband Michael of St. John, and Beth Feldt York of St. John; one step brother, Scott Feldt and wife Emily of Cimarron; grandmother, Mildred Hamilton of Dodge City; a nephew, Trevyn Moote of Hoxie; special friend, Casey Leatherwood of Dodge City; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Bill and Wanda Moote and Ralph Hamilton.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. The service will be live streamed via Swaim Funeral Chapel's Facebook page. Burial will follow at Ensign Cemetery. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 12:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Dodge City Dodgers Special Olympic team or Arrowhead West in care of the funeral home.
