Shawna Michelle Foskuhl, 55, passed away on August 15, 2026, at the Minneola District Hospital in Minneola, She was born on January 26, 1971 in Dodge City, to James Foskuhl and Glenna (Gilbert) Birzer.
Shawna grew up in Dodge City and was a 1989 graduate of Dodge City High School. She had her CNA license and worked at Trinity Manor nursing home early in her life. Shawna enjoyed being a homemaker where she loved to bake and take care of her tomato plants.
She also enjoyed listening to music, playing card games, going to her grandsons baseball games, watching her daily soap opera, and spending time with her family and two dogs Pinky and Katrina. She would often travel with her husband Juan (Peter) and daughter Perla to Mexico where she took joy in bringing souvenirs back for her loved ones. Her favorite color was purple and she loved unicorns! Shawna always had a smile on her face and loved to help others.
Shawna is survived by husband, Juan Pedro Morales of Dodge City; daughters, Mickashell Sanchez & Carlos of Dodge City, Perla Morales of Dodge City, Jaden Knapp of Kansas City; grandson, Jaxyn Kaleb Foskuhl; and siblings, Christina Kephart & Mark, Michael Foskuhl, and Jason Foskuhl & Katy. She is preceded in death by her parents,and two children, Kaleb Knapp and Clareena Morales.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 28, 2026 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Book signing will be on Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Swaim funeral Chapel. Burial will be at 1:00 PM on Friday at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Memorial donations can be made in Shawna's name to the Perla Morales Education Fund in care of the funeral home.
