Sherry Rose Cunningham, 39, died May 30, 2011 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. She was born on May 2, 1972 in Dodge City, the daughter of Clifford Randall Cunningham and Dorothy (Schremser) Ramirez.
Sherry graduated from Montezuma High School is 1990. She then attended Dodge City Community College and Fort Hays State University. Sherry obtained as Associates Degree in Accounting. She worked for Donna C's restaurant and Elder Care both of Montezuma as a cook. Most recently, Sherry worked for Dillons in the bakery department. Sherry was an accomplished artist, making cards and other hand painted items that were sold around Southwest Kansas. She also made many cakes for special occasions for friends and family.
She was a member of the Moriningside Community Church of Montezuma where she volunteered and just recently painted murals for the nursery and the preschool classroom.
Sherry is survived by her mother, Dorothy Ramirez of Montezuma; one sister, Christine Ramirez of Montezuma; one brother, David Ramirez and wife Shilo of Dodge City; and two nephews, Adan and Silas Ramirez both of Dodge City.She is preceded in death by her father, Clifford Randall Cunningham and her grandmother, Ida Schremser.
Funeral service will be held at Morningside Community Church on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Tim Erickson presiding. Burial will follow at Morningside Cemetery in Montezuma. Friends and family may sign the book from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 1, 2011. The casket will remain closed.
