Dodge City - Shirley Arlene Rogers left to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, on July 22, 2022. She was born on February 15, 1937 in Syracuse, Kansas, eldest daughter of her loving parents, Wayne and Elda Rogers.

Her older brother, Donald Rogers, preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother, Arland Rogers of Kendall, Kansas; sister, Penny Carrithers of Gunnison, Colorado; and her two sons, Marty Holuska of Lancaster, Kansas and Curtis Holuska of Dodge City, Kansas. She also had five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Shirley loved to sing and entertain, devoting the first half of her working career to performing as a Country Music artist. Shirley entertained in venues in Kansas, Oklahoma, Minnesota, and other areas, including making some regional recordings in studios in Oklahoma City. Shirley worked at the Fort Dodge Soldiers Home and at Trinity Manor of the Plains as a Dietary Associate.

Inurnment will take place on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 10:00 AM MST at Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse, Kansas.  A celebration of Shirley's life and luncheon will be held at Bulldog Pizzeria on 208 Main St. in Syracuse, Kansas at 11 AM MST.  There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
