Cimarron - Stephen Michael McPhail, 54, died May 9, 2025 at his home in Cimarron.  He was born on February 28, 1971 in Ashland, the son of Virgil Charles (V.C.) and Sharron Ann (Baalman) McPhail.

Stephen grew up in Cimarron and was a 1989 graduate of Cimarron High School. On December 6, 1994 he married Angela Davis in Las Vegas, Nevada. A lifelong resident of Cimarron, Stephen was a Phosphate Conversion Specialist for Blick's, a division of MacroSource, LLC. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.

Stephen's family was his pride and joy, and his greatest role in life was being a papa to his grandbabies. His devoted, strong-willed, hardworking spirit will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Angela McPhail of Cimarron; daughter, Samantha Rascon & husband Alexandro of Cimarron; two sons, Adam McPhail and Jordyn Cure of Cimarron and Alex McPhail and wife Brailyn of Courtland; two grandchildren, Alaina and Alessia Rascon; father, V. C. McPhail of Cimarron; brother, Christopher McPhail of Cimarron and sister, Stephanie McPhail of De Soto. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharron Ann McPhail.

Funeral service will be held at the First Christian Church in Cimarron on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 10:30 AM with Kyle Lawson presiding.  Burial will follow at Cimarron Cemetery in Cimarron.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Cimarron on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Grandchildren's Education Fund in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
