Obituary

Ft. Dodge - Thain Francis Yahne (Ty) of Jennings, Kansas, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025 at St. Catherine's hospital in Garden City, Kansas. Born on August 18, 1941, in Great Bend, Kansas, Ty lived a life marked by service and creativity. A proud Vietnam veteran, Ty served honorably in the United States Navy. His commitment to his country continued through his involvement with the American Legion, where he found camaraderie and purpose. He spent his last years at the Kansas Soldiers home in Fort Dodge, where he made good friends and received great care. Ty was a loving father, son, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He found joy in sculpting and wood carvings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd Yahne and a Dresden native, Francis Foster Yahne Williamson, and  two brothers Edward and Raymond.

He is survived by his sister, Jeanette Hale, beloved daughter, Maryagnes (Marly) Yahne; grandchildren Hannah Cook, Kaytlynne Cook, Jacob Cook and Isabella Kluver and a great grandson Xander.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Legion, Kansas Soldiers Home or any other Veterans Association.
