Dodge City - Theda Barbara Fagen, 93, died November 27, 2013 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City. She was born on June 11, 1920 the daughter of Thomas Loy and Evalena (Hutton) Davidson on a farm 14 miles northeast of Cimarron. Her mother died when she was only 17 months old.
Theda was raised in Cimarron and graduated from Cimarron High School in 1938. She married Walter Reimer June 11, 1939. She later married Alfred Fagen on December 26, 1964. He preceded her in death in 1977. Theda loved music and volunteered much of her time playing the piano and keyboard for Country Jamborees and Presbyterian Manor of the Plains. She enjoyed her family, friends, church, and adored her pets. Theda loved the beauty of nature, and early dawn, a setting sun, and a full moon rising.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Lydia Cirle and the Women of the Moose.
Theda is survived by one daughter, Barb Dark and husband Scott of Dodge City; daughter Sharon Paine of Kearny, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Reimer of Hutchinson. Theda is also survived by 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Stella; two brothers, Joe and Donald; a stepsister, Margaret Winsted; four children, Dee Anderson, Tommy Reimer, Linda Reimer, and Cheryl Hamlin; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Kirk Larson presiding. Burial will follow at Cimarron Cemetery in Cimarron. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, November 29, 2013 from noon to 8:00 P.M. Memorials are suggested to Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
