Obituary

Offerle - Thelma Wetzel, 81, passed away February 6, 2013 at her home south of Offerle. She was born July 24, 1931 in Hodgeman County to Martin C. and Bertha (Kregar) Setzkorn. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church and Zion Ladies Aid.

She married Robert W. Wetzel on December 4, 1949 at St. Michaels Lutheran Church north of Dodge City. Together they made their life farming and living on the farm located south of Offerle. He survives.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Zion Ladies Aid, Zion Quilting Sewing Group, and getting together once a month for lunch with high school classmates at a restaurant in Dodge City.

Survivors include two sons Harold and wife Wendy, Wilroads Garden; Roy and wife Debbie, Montgomery, Alabama; three daughters Janet and husband Don Williams of Offerle, Colleen and husband Richard Miller of Emporia, Jennifer and husband Bill Heinz, Jr. of Dodge City; eight grandchildren, Clint and wife Michelle of Springdale, Arkansas, Mary and husband Matt of Wilroads Garden, Amy of Dodge City, Curtis and wife Kimberlee, Sarah of Offerle, Rick and wife Leah of Park City, Brandon and Andrea of Emporia; five great grandchildren Levi, Misty, Kinsley, Vin and Nicholas.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and four brothers.

Funeral service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church of Offerle 10:30 A.M. Monday, February 11, 2013 with Pastor Randall Jahnke presiding. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Noon to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City. Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
