Obituary

Thomas Lowery, 75, passed away on July 20, 2026, in Dodge City, KS.

Thomas Lowery was born on February 17, 1951 in Fostoria, Ohio, to Dale and Alma (Shaull) Lowery.

Thomas married Christine Davis on April 24, 1971 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dodge City, she survives. Thomas started at Victory Electric in April 2007, when Victory Electric acquired a portion of the Aquila electric properties. Previous to Victory Electric. Lowery began his career as an apprentice lineman in 1973 at Western Power, later Aquila. As an Ohio native Thomas came out to Western Kansas to help his uncle with custom harvest jobs. Thomas began as an apprentice lineman and moved to the service department for 23 years until he was promoted to line supervisor. A year later he took on the role as director of operations. In the move from Aquila to Victory Electric, he was named manager of operations and in 2016 move to vice president of special projects. After retiring from Victory Electric he worked for the City of Ensign as well as Reinert Farms. He loved spending time with his family in his spare time. He proudly served in the Ohio National Guard as well as the Kansas National Guard.

Thomas is survived by his wife Christine Lowery of the home, two sons Brian Lowery and wife Tonya of Borger, Texas; Matt Lowery and wife Taviana of Dodge City and six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters Vicki Shedwell and husband Mike of Naperville, Illinois; Janet Kirian and husband John of Alabama; Karen O'Connor and husband Joe of Crystal River, Florida; three brothers David Lowery of Ford, Kansas; Patrick Lowery of Beloit, Kansas, Steve Lowery of Ashburn, Virginia and two sister-in-laws Stephanie Koenke and husband Richard of Eloy, Arizona and Betty Gallaway of Crystal City, Missouri, and several nieces and nephews.

Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Robert Lowery and one sister Cindy Lowery.

A Memorial service for Thomas Lowery will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City, Kansas. Interment will follow the service at Maple Grove Cemetery. There will be no vistitation as cremation has taken place.

Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Prairie in care of the funeral home.
