Dodge City - Thomas Ricks, 75, died November 9, 2023 at St. Catherine's Hospital in Garden City.  He was born on October 9, 1948 at Montebello, California,  the son of   Robert and Louise (Willis) Ricks.

Thomas spent his childhood in the Los Angeles area, where he attended school.  He stayed in California before moving to Dodge City. He worked at Boot Hill as a gunfighter and he was a carpenter.

Thomas enjoyed riding motorcycles, he was an amazing painter and he loved surfing. He enjoyed sharing stories about the good ole days and working on his Harleys.

He is survived by a niece, Amanda Hestermann and husband Kyle of Scott City; a nephew, Willis Hileman of Dodge City, great nieces and nephews, Alexis, Angelica, Kaden, Graham, Anthony, Nelli, and Gracie.  He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Wayne Hileman.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.  There is no visitation as cremation has taken place.
