Celebration of Life
Tim Dewey, a legendary farmer and rancher of Cimarron, Kansas, passed away on March 22, 2026, at the age of 79. Tim was born on September 4,1946 to Lloyd and Jane (Davidson) Dewey.
Tim spent his life rooted in the land he loved. As a lifelong steward of agriculture, he built a reputation not only for his hard work and resilience, but also for his deep respect for the land, livestock, and community that defined his way of life. Through decades of dedication, Tim became a well-known and respected figure in the Cimarron area, admired for his integrity, quiet strength, and willingness to lend a hand to neighbors and friends alike.
Raised on a farm in Finney County, Tim attended Kalvesta and Cimarron Schools, graduating in 1964. He then attended an Automotive Technical School in Denver, Colorado. He returned to the farm and married his high school sweetheart, Pat Voran on November 26, 1966 in Cimarron, Kansas. Tim and Pat were blessed with three children; Jeff, Steve, and Janell. He was a devoted husband, father, provider, and his family was at the center of everything he did.
Farming and ranching were more than a livelihood to Tim-they were a calling. Whether in the fields at sunrise or tending cattle through long seasons, he took pride in every aspect of his work. His legacy lives on in the land he cared for, as well as the values he passed down. He will be remembered for his steady presence, strong work ethic, and the lasting impact he made on his family and community.
Surviving family includes his beloved wife Pat; sisters, Lynn Wagner of Edmond, OK, and Kim (Kent) Kopper, of Cimarron, KS; son, Jeff (Melissa) Dewey of Hays KS, and children, Payton of Cimarron, KS, Payne (Shyanne), and Pake of Hays KS; son, Steve (Shannon) Dewey, and children, Hunter (Joslyn) and their children, Brighum and Kaizley, and Tanner (Ashlyn) all of Cimarron, KS; daughter, Janell (Mark) Fugitt, and children, Justin (Britlyn) Fugitt of Bel Aire, KS, Macy (Clay) Frink, and Janae Fugitt of Cimarron KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
