Obituary

Bucklin – Tim J. Rabe, 63, died November 14, 2022 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. He was born on July 30, 1959 in Kinsley, the son of Marvin and Agnes (Arensdorf) Rabe.

Tim graduated from Spearville High School in 1977.  After graduation, he worked for Crustbuster and the City of Coldwater. He married Cindy (Felkins) Fleming on January 4, 1992 at Kingsdown; she survives. He was a very hard working man serving the farmers of the Offerle Coop for 30 years before retiring in June of 2022. After retirement, Tim went to work for Sellard Farms.  It was a job he truly loved. Tim was so very proud of his family, especially his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his seven brothers. Tim was honored to have served the Bucklin community as a volunteer firefighter for 29 years.

He was a member of the Ford County Fire and EMS for 29 years as well as Ducks Unlimited and the Knights of Columbus.

Tim is survived by his wife Cindy of the home; five daughters, Christy Zimmerman and husband Kurt of Wichita, Carla Peltzer of Weir, Carol McFall of Peabody, Angela Esplund and husband Kirk of Bucklin, Ashley Freeman of Denver, Colorado; and one son, Matthew Fleming and wife Brandy of Peyton, Colorado. Tim is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Madeline, Marie, Katelyn, Bailey, Caroline, Royal, Augie, Weston, Wrangler, Rachael, Emma, Zachary, Hunter, Kortnie, Kim; six great grandchildren Nevaeh, Za'Riyah, Rimley, Rhettlynn, Skylar and Rylan; and seven brothers, Terry Rabe and wife Belinda of Dodge City; Gary Rabe of Dodge City; Randy Rabe of Dodge City; Kevin Rabe and wife Jan of Spearville; Kenny Rabe of Dodge City; Tom Rabe of Spearville and Bob Rabe of Dodge City. He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Agnes Rabe.

Memorial service will be held at Bucklin High School on Saturday December 3, 2022 at 2:00 PM with Scott Tilley presiding. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Ford County Fire and EMS, Bucklin Station #4 in care of the funeral home.
