DODGE CITY - Todd Carlson passed away March 19, 2017. He was born in Dodge City, the son of Ted and Laura Carlson, on September 24, 1957, and lived in Kansas, Colorado, Missouri, and Nevada after graduating from Dodge City Senior High in 1975.
Todd worked as a sound engineer across the country including Main Street Music Hall (Lake of the Ozarks) and The MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Music was a big part of his life, whether he was jamming on the keyboard or setting up and mixing sound. He loved the outdoors and particularly enjoyed traveling with his profession. In Ft. Collins, he was active in politics and was always watching out for the little guy.
He is survived by his daughter, Shanna Sloyer; grandchildren, Ryan and Kate Sloyer, and Leandra Mondragan ; siblings, Rhonda Patriquin (Kevan) and Troy Carlson (Denise); nieces and nephew, Laura and Kayla Patriquin, Elizabeth and Teddy Carlson, Kendra Kruse and Kaitlyn Fox and families; and his loving companion, Vicki Jensen, and her family, Jay, Jodi, Jordain and Taylor Jensen.
A memorial service will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 10 at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to The Todd Carlson Memorial to benefit local animal care and rescue. A reception will follow at The Carnegie Center for the Arts in Dodge
