Obituary

Cimarron - Tony Stauth, 75, died August 17, 2022 at The Shepherd's Center in Cimarron. He was born on June 10, 1947 at Dodge City, Kansas the son of Bill and Vera (Brock) Stauth.

Tony loved to travel. He and Kay visited all 50 states and 8 countries, completing mission trips in Panama and Guatemala. Tony also loved spending time fishing, hunting, and being outdoors at the lake. His family all share the memory of Tony pulling them behind the boat whether it was for tubing or water skiing. Nothing gave him more

enjoyment than dumping kids off the tube and he was an expert at it! Tony was also an excellent trap shooter. He was one of the club's top shooters. He introduced several of his family members and friends to the sport.

When Tony retired from being a barber after 44 years, he discovered one of his life's great joys - flying a power parachute. He and Kay spent many years traveling around the country taking part in Fly-Ins with a beloved group of friends. It had always been a dream of his to fly and what a gift it was to see his joy and excitement when his dream came true! Tony was always quite civic minded and was a long-time member of several clubs. He was an active member of Rotary for several decades. He was the Chairman of the Gray County Barbecue for years. He was part of the original Board for the Horse Thief Reservoir and part of the Cimarron Library Board. Tony was a    long-standing member of the Cimarron United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for many years. This was partly because he loved to sing and partly because he needed to keep an eye on Kay and to keep the kids in line during church.

He is survived by his wife Kay of the home; one son Mark Stauth and wife Mari and their children Avery and Maverick; one daughter Tara Carlson and husband Mark and their children Colby and Cecilia as well as three sisters Jane Eskam and husband Alan; Kay Lacy and husband Casey; Lora Lea Goff and husband Walter and one brother Ted Stauth and wife Sue. He is also survived by many, many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be held at Cimarron United Methodist Church on Saturday August 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mike Keating presiding. There will be no burial as cremation is to follow the funeral service.
