Dodge City - Troy Thomas Heard, 58, died August 22, 2023 at St. Catherine's Hospital, Garden City.  He was born on February 17, 1965 in Kingman, Arizona, the son of Roy Otis Heard and Beverly Jean (Bratcher) Amthor.

He worked as an alignment technician and was part of a band, the Dishonorable Bastards. Troy loved fishing, football, and music, as well as having a good time. His greatest loves were his grandchildren.

He is survived by his mother, Beverly Jean Amthor; mother of children, Lisa Heard of Dodge City; children, Bryce Hart, Justice Heard, Shelby Heard (Tyler Stateler), and Jamie Heard all of Dodge City; step children, McKenzie Fotis of Michigan, and Sarah Fotis of Colorado; siblings, Julie Kasselman and Doug Heard; and eight grandchildren, Penelope, Calliope, Justice, Jr., Mila, Violet, Claire, Hope, and Joey. He was preceded in death by his Father, Roy Otis Heard; twin brothers, Terry and Perry Heard; and mother of children, Erin Killian.

Memorial service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 1:00 PM with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding.  There will be no burial and no visitation as cremation will take place.  Memorials are suggested to the family in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
