Obituary

Dodge City - Valetta Coy Snyder, 83, died February 23, 2018 at Manor of the Plains in Dodge City. She was born on July 5, 1934 at Pierceville, Kansas the daughter of Jay and Josephine Lucille (Emmons) Glassco.

She married James R. Adams on December 14, 1949 in Dodge City, he preceded her in death on September 25, 1996. She later married Noble Snyder on June 8, 1985 in Dodge City, he survives. Mrs. Snyder enjoyed playing cards, board games, working on puzzles, gardening and playing bingo at Ft. Dodge. She also help start the Friendship Feast Meals at the Senior Center.

She was a member of the Daughters of The American Revolution, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Copeland, First Christian Church of Copeland and Dodge City, John 14 Fellowship Church of Dodge City.

She is survived by her husband Noble of the home; three daughters Valetta Jane Roberts of Cartwright, Oklahoma; Talotta Kloefkorn and husband Ron of Manchester, Oklahoma; Kimala Adams of Tempe, Arizona as well as three grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also survived by one stepson Roy E. Snyder of Dodge City; three stepdaughters Julie Unruh and husband David of Montezuma; Karen Louise Prentice and husband Dave of Dodge City; Donna Marie Amoth and husband Jerry of Mora, Missouri as well as eight step grandchildren and thirteen step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter Jetta Lea Adams; one sister Yvonne Robertson: one brother J.B.Glassco and a son-in-law Mark Roberts.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Tuesday February 27, 2018 at 10:30 AM with Vernon Bogart presiding.  Burial will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Copeland Cemetery in Copeland.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City on Monday, February 26, 2018 from 12:00 P.M. to 8:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to the Copeland Cemetery in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
